Once a year, the LVMH group of companies holds open days in its workshops and stores – Les Journées Particulières. This year I was lucky to visit the historical Guerlain store on the Champs-Élysées Avenue 68. In 2005, designers Andrée Putman and Maxime d’Angeac turned this place into a real temple of beauty, and in 2013 the designer Peter Marino added additional Parisian charm to this place.
During the excursion we were shown various stages of production of perfumes and cosmetics. It was interesting to learn that only 4 to 6 people work on some of the handmade processes, for example, the gilding of the famous bee bottles, the tying and combing of the tails on the Shalimar bottles, the creation of Météorites powder balls.
A special surprise for me was the meeting with the head perfumer of the brand – Thierry Wasser, who talked about the creation of perfumes and gave us a sniff of various natural perfume ingredients.
The excursion lasted about 90 minutes. It was necessary to reserve a place in advance on the day of the opening of online registration (I will say right away it was not easy). Therefore, follow the updates of LVMH Les Journées Particulières so as not to miss interesting events in 2023.
